Car storage service

When you entrust your car to The Motor Gym you can be certain that it will be cared for and protected just as you would do yourself. Once inside our facilities, your vehicle can benefit from a number of care options which are designed to keep it in the condition you choose. We keep a full record of all work done.

Car Care maintenance programmes

We offer a range of different Car Care Maintenance Programmes designed to meet the specific requirements of the vehicles in our care and keep them in pristine condition. If you select one of our Car Care maintenance programmes, your car will be washed and thoroughly dried on arrival. We will then conduct a general inspection including lights, brakes, windows, oil and anti-freeze levels. The underside optionally coated with Waxoyl. Finally, a soft breather dust cover will be placed over the car.

We also offer a range of maintenance options. For example, on a monthly or bi-monthly basis (or more frequently, if requested) we will start up the car and run gently to operating temperature. The gears and clutch are engaged and the vehicle rolled to lubricate bearings and prevent tyre flat spots. As many as possible moving components on the car are checked, i.e. power steering, electric windows & roofs, air conditioning, batteries are regularly trickle charged and tyres checked and inflated.

Transport

The Motor Gym can arrange safe collection of cars by trailer or by driver. If you wish to deliver your car to us we can take you to the nearest railway station or provide you with a taxi.

Valeting

We offer a full valeting programme using Autoglym Valet products. We recommend that all cars are thoroughly cleaned and prepared prior to storage.

Insurance

The Motor Gym has full motor trade insurance, public liability insurance and indemnity cover. This means that whilst your car is in our care and being driven by ourselves on your behalf it is covered by our comprehensive insurance. You must inform your insurers that your car is in storage and that you maintain a minimum of 3rd Party Fire and Theft cover.

Servicing

The Motor Gym can arrange for your car to be serviced prior to collection so that when you are ready to return your car to the road it is ready for you to arrive and drive off with no further worries other than enjoying your pride and joy.

Costs

Storage in Dry Indoor, Secure Premises From £20 per week for Cars and from £10 per week for Bikes. The minimum storage period charged for is eight weeks.

Monthly tyre check, vehicle roll movement, engine start up and run to operating temperature, depress brake, clutch pedals, engage gears, battery check, charge if necessary. General inspection, includes oil and antifreeze check on arrival (materials extra). From £5 per week.

Notice

We ask for 48hrs notice to remove a car from storage. We aim to be as flexible as possible provided we have reasonable notice especially if servicing and MOT's are required.

All prices are subject to value added tax at the standard rate.
